Donate to Camp
Thank you for your interest in supporting the Camp Cherith ministry! Camp Cherith is a registered Canadian charity. Your donation makes it possible to keep camp accessible to as many people as possible, and provides funding for campsite improvements like new buildings, equipment, and maintenance.
We invest in our campsite so that we can invest in people – the children and youth in our local community — in the best way we know how: by running an awesome summer camp!
Why we ask for your support.
Our camper fees cover the cost of running our summer camp program. The fee you pay to send your child to camp covers groceries, insurance, activity supplies, administration, and operations (maintenance, etc.) All of our staff are volunteers! Our fees are calculated to break even at 75% capacity. This keeps our fees down — a goal since we started running camp over 40 years ago.
When we made the decision to buy a property in 2008, we reached out to our camp community to raise enough funds to finance the purchase of the campsite and build all of the things we needed to run camp (such as cabins and washhouses). The response has been incredible! Your financial support is what makes it possible for us to continue to develop and improve our property.
Here’s how you can help!
You can help by mailing a cheque, or by providing a donation when you register your child for summer camp.
If your workplace participates in a United Way campaign, you can assign a donation to be deducted straight from your pay. Use the section labeled ”Other registered Canadian charities” on your United Way pledge form. Our business name is ”Laurentian Camp Cherith” and our business number is #11900 9645 RR0001.
You can also set up a donation from your Visa or MasterCard through our own online donation system or through CanadaHelps.org. You can choose to donate monthly — many of our donors find that they hardly notice $10 or $25 or $50 on their monthly credit card bill, but this makes a huge difference to camp when it is all added up!
All donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a receipt for income tax records.
Jen’s Half Marathon
On October 28, 2012, Jen Dobrenski (daughter of Joe Molloy) will be running a half marathon in Luzern, Switzerland in honour of her father! Her goal is to raise $1400 — enough to sponsor four campers to come to Camp Cherith in summer 2013. Please visit Jen’s Half Marathon website for more details! If you are donating to sponsor Jen, please note this at the bottom of your cheque or if you are donating online, please email info@cherith.ca and let us know that the donation is for Jen’s marathon.
Thank you for supporting the Camp Cherith ministry!
