We welcome all of our new Camp Cherith volunteers to a special training day just for you! Please join us on Saturday, June 2 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at Alta Vista Baptist Church, 887 Canterbury Avenue in Ottawa, in the basement. We will introduce you to our leadership team and show you the exciting ministry opportunities ahead for you this summer. We look forward to meeting you this weekend!

“White Owl Lodge” Dedication and Open House

On Sunday, June 10 we will have a dedication ceremony for our “White Owl Lodge” building (which is currently being used as an admin/office and kitchen) in honour of Joe Molloy, one of the previous owners of our camp property. The Molloy family poured so much love into their property and we are honoured to be carrying on that heritage through our summer camp ministry.

Please join us starting at 2:00pm. Refreshments and a community open house will follow the dedication ceremony.

Something new this summer!

We have something new coming this summer! By popular request, and with the help of some generous donations from some of our camp staff members, we will be purchasing a water trampoline to add to our waterfront!

Even more exciting, this water bouncer is expandable with attachments including a water slide and inflatable log, and we’re hoping to purchase these additional parts as well!

2012 Ontario Camps Association Conference

Greetings from the 2012 Ontario Camps Association conference! From January 25-27, Bunny, Black Bear and Jay have been staying in Toronto and soaking in a variety of keynote speeches and sessions. We’ve been having lots of fun, enjoying yummy food (but not as good as camp food, of course), meeting staff from other camps, learning about staff training, youth development, games and programming ideas, and lots more!

We’re bringing home more than just cool ideas! Bunny won a really cool prize at the exhibitor hall where we met a variety of vendors selling camp-related products and services. What did she win? We’re going to keep it a secret for now, but you’ll probably see it at camp this summer! We’ve also got some great ideas for tuck shop items, and we’ll show them off soon!

What a great way to start off 2012 as we prepare for our summer camp season which is just a few months away. We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Snowflake Soiree Dinner and Dance

You’ll enjoy a delicious catered dinner followed by music and dancing, and you’ll also have the opportunity to bid on exciting products and services in the silent auction. There will be raffles, door prizes, and more! All proceeds from this event will fund future building and construction projects at Camp Cherith.
