Laurentian Camp Cherith provides a unique and fun camping experience for children and youth in the Ottawa Valley, Ontario! But we can't go it alone. We're affiliated with these organizations:
Pioneer Clubs is a mid-week, church-sponsored children's club program in use by thousands of churches across North America. Designed for children aged two through middle school, Pioneer Clubs programs integrate spiritual and personal development to help boys and girls build healthy relationships with caring Christian adults, their peers, and most importantly, Christ.
Camp Cherith is the summer camp ministry of Pioneer Clubs. We are one of eight different Cherith camps in North America. The name "Cherith" comes from 1 Kings 17:1-6; it's the name of the brook which the Lord sent the prophet Elijah to for refreshment (both physical and spiritual).
We are a member of, and accredited by, the Ontario Camps Association. The OCA promotes children and youth camping in Ontario, and establishes a set of high standards of practice for member camps. OCA accredited camps (like us) voluntarily adhere to over 400 separate standards dealing with all aspects of a camp's operation from health and safety to programming and administration.
We are a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association in Canada. CCI/CANADA represents organizations providing camp and conference facilities and programs in keeping with Biblical values for children, youth and adults. They champion the Christian camping experience, and provide resources to develop and equip leaders in member organizations.
